There were already rumors circulating about the price increase on the Chanel Classic Bags in the United States(US). Yet there were still many questions unanswered. Is the price increase only for the Classic Flap Bags or also the Boy Bags? And how about the mini items like the Wallets or the WOC’s? And most importantly, is the price increase only in the US or also in Europe and other countries?

Just a few weeks ago, we wrote the Chanel Price Increase Report Nov 2017 Part 1. This report was about the price Increase on the Upcoming Classic Handbags, which mostly affected Asian countries

Chanel Price Increase In The United States

Like always, we’ve done everything we could to analyze the new prices. The Chanel Classic Flap Bag prices have just increased in the US. And naturally, the prices of the Reissue 2.55 Flap Bags went up as well.

But hold!

The price increase on the Classic Flap Bag only affected on the M/L (medium size), jumbo and maxi sizes. The price of the Small Classic Flap Bag has remained the same. See the table below:

So how high did the prices jumped? The price of the medium size went up as much as 8.1% while the Maxi went up by 6.67%. The biggest price increase was the M/L size and we think it’s because of the popularity – most people pick the medium size.

As a side note, the Classic Flap Bag and the Reissue 2.55 Flap Bag prices haven’t gone up since May 2014, which is almost 4 years now. So it was just a matter of time before the price increase occurred.

Did The Chanel Boy Bags Also Increased In Prices?

We’re going to answer all your questions regarding the price increase in the US here:

  • Did the Chanel Boy Bag also increased in prices? No, they didn’t.
  • How about the Classic Wallets? Did they go up in prices as well?
    No, the wallets haven’t increased in prices.
  • The Wallet On Chain Bags (WOC) prices have also remained the same INCLUDING the Classic Quilted WOC.
  • The upcoming classic handbags haven’t increased in prices. This includes the Gabrielle Bag, Coco Handle Bag and the Trendy CC Bag.
  • The seasonal handbag prices remained the same.
  • Did Other Countries Also Increased In Prices?

    Only a small number of countries have increased in prices right now:

    • There is no price increase in Europe.
    • There is no price increase in the UK either.
    • Prices in Singapore has remained the same.
    • Only one bag has increased in prices in Australia.
    • No price increase in Japan.
    • Some handbags including the Classic Bags have increased in prices in Canada.
    • Only one bag has increased in prices in Malaysia.

    And again, the prices of the small size went down not only in Canada but also in other countries this year. While the small size is a Classic Flap Bag, I now doubt whether it’s a good investment because the other sizes (especially the medium size) have gone up in prices very steeply.
